The American Gem Society is the country’s preeminent jewelry trade organization dedicated to consumer protection.

Since 1934, we’ve been making it easier and safer to buy jewelry of any kind. The American Gem Society is a trade association of retail jewelers, independent appraisers, suppliers, and selective industry members, which was founded in 1934 by Robert M. Shipley.

We are committed to promoting and educating consumers and jewelry professionals about colored gemstones and cultured pearls.

The World Jewellery Confederation, or CIBJO is the primary international jewellery, gemstones and precious metals association, representing the interests of all individuals, organisations and companies earning their livelihoods from the mining, processing, manufacturing and trade of these products.

National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA) is dedicated to promoting stringent quality standards for gem and jewelry appraisers. The association was founded in 1981 on the premise that the specialized field of gem and jewelry appraising deserved representation on a professional basis.

The association’s primary purpose is to serve the public’s trust by supporting, educating, and promoting highly qualified professional gemologist appraisers with expertise specific to the assignment.

The Natural Diamond Council is the authority and resource on natural diamonds for consumers and the industry. Originally formed as the Diamond Producers Association, our mission is to advance the integrity of the modern diamond jewelry industry and to inspire, educate and support consumers.

We believe life’s most special moments should be celebrated with the world’s most precious metal. Platinum Guild International (PGI) was established in 1975 to educate jewelers, jewelry buyers and lovers alike on the many benefits of platinum.

Founded in 2005 by 14 member organisations (ABN AMRO, BHP Billiton Diamonds, Cartier, World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), Diamond Trading Company (part of De Beers Group), Diarough, Jewelers of America, National Association of Goldsmiths (UK), Newmont Mining, Rio Tinto, Rosy Blue, Signet Group, Tiffany & Co., and Zale Corporation).

We bring together over 1800 companies of all sizes, across the global watch and jewellery supply chain, from mining to retail.

What unites us is our shared belief that responsible business, without causing harm to people or the planet, can only be achieved by working together, in partnership with others.

The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), a non-profit organization, is the only worldwide body specifically created to benefit the global colored gemstone industry. ICA was founded in 1984 and is now comprised of 500+ gem industry leaders from mine to market, including miners, gem cutters, suppliers, retailers, trade associations, gemological laboratories, academia, museums, and more, from 47 countries who are devoted to advancing and promoting the knowledge and appreciation of colored gemstones.

ICA’s global network works to develop a common language for promotion and consistent business standards necessary to improve international communication and trade of colored gemstones.

Over the years ICA has provided direct access to the source for colored gemstones and related information. There is no other international organization with the same collective access to, and knowledge about, all levels of the colored gemstone industry.
